Rooms for Guests

The Manor House, Flamborough

Guest Accommodation :

We have two bedrooms available for guests. The main bedroom is a large L-shaped room with an uncovered 17th century four-poster bed and a separate single bed. This room is en-suite.

The second bedroom is a slightly smaller double room, with a Victorian brass bed, and a separate, but private, bathroom just next door (the wall separating the bedroom and bathroom is the old back wall of the house, and is about two feet thick).

As we only have two bedrooms, situated at opposite ends of the house, both rooms are quiet and private.

Winter Breaks Special Offer

If you are just interested in accommodation in Flamborough at the Manor House, we have a separate site devoted solely to staying with us. This separate Manor House site is optimized for viewing on NetBooks and smaller screens but does not contain all the information available on this site.

Main bedroom

A Manor of Flamborough was recorded in the Domesday Book and one has existed ever since. The remains of the medieval manor are visible in the adjacent field, while the current house, the second on the present location, dates from the end of the eighteenth century. It is a classic Georgian country house of pleasing human proportion. The principal feature of the main bedroom is a massive Portuguese four-poster bed, dating from the seventeenth century. This large L-shaped room also has a separate single bed and an en-suite bathroom.

The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom featuring a large, cast-iron bath.

Second bedroom

The second bedroom, though smaller, is still equally comfortable and features a Victorian brass double bed and American rocking chair amongst its furnishings. This room has its own large private bathroom next door, separated from the bedroom by the old back wall of the house, which is almost two feet thick.

The bathroom for the second room features a large cast-iron bath on feet.

Sitting Room The main sitting room (at left and below) features an open fireplace, book-lined shelves, and views in the summer out to the rose garden. We aim to offer a high standard of comfort and service in a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Rooms have been elegantly furnished by Lesley Berry and include television and tea/coffee making facilities. The house is centrally heated; this is supplemented in the guests’ sitting rooms by log fires.

Entrance Hall

The entrance hall is painted in a bold red. Leading off the hall are the sitting room and the dining room, while both bedrooms are upstairs.

Dining Room The dining room, with an open fire, also features a sofa and chair so that guests can relax after their meal. This is a more intimate room than the main sitting room and some guests prefer this room, particularly in the cooler months, with its cosy atmosphere. Please click to go to the top of this page

The Links Page :

As the range of our activities is so diverse, we have a number of different websites. The main Flamborough Manor site, which is where you are now, focuses primarily on accommodation but has brief details of all our other activities. To allow for more information to be presented on these other activities, there are other self-contained web-sites and some of the links you will encounter while browsing these pages will take you to these separate sites.

All our web-sites have a LINKS page in common, which allows for easy navigation between the various sites. To find out where you are, or to return to the main site, simply go to the LINKS page.
